NOTICE Regarding Pay Cards & Home Depot Security Breach

SPECIAL NOTICE: PAYCARDS THREATENED BY HOME DEPOT SECURITY BREACH TO BE REPLACED Our first priority is to protect cardholders’ money and personal information. We are notifying you with this letter that we are sending you a new card that will replace your card ending in XXXX. This is an extra precaution we are taking to protect your funds in response to a recently reported data compromise at Home Depot from April 2014 to September 2, 2014. We have not received notice that your card was affected by the breach, but our records show that you may have used your prepaid debit card ending in < XXXX > at a Home Depot store during the reported breach period. We want to take every precaution to protect you and your money. Please read this letter in its entirety and follow these steps to keep your funds safe:

  1. Look for your new card in the mail. Continue using your card and account as usual until you receive and activate the new card we are sending you. If you are enrolled in Anytime Alerts, you will receive a text notification when the card ships so you know when to look for it in the mail.

  2. Activate your new card online or by calling the number on your card as soon as you receive it. You will keep all your account settings and preferences on your new card.

  3. We will cancel your card ending in XXXX within 24 hours after you have activated your new card. Even if you do not activate the new card we send you, we will block your card ending in XXXX on October 10, 2014 to prevent any further activity.

  4. Notify any billers who have recurring payment established based on your 16-digit card number. Direct deposit and direct drafts or preauthorized payments using your routing and account numbers (rather than your 16-digit card number) will not be affected.

  5. Do not answer any calls, e-mails or texts that request your personal information, card information, or account login credentials. Only use the phone number and web address on the back of your card.

  6. Monitor your account closely. Report any unauthorized transactions immediately. Refer to your Cardholder Agreement for more information about unauthorized transactions. Even if you do not activate the new card we send you, we will block your card ending in XXXX on October 10, 2014. Please activate the new card we send you as soon as you receive it. If you do not receive your new card by October 1, 2014, please contact us at the number on the back of your card. We hope that by issuing you a new card we can help you avoid the pain of unauthorized transactions. If you do notice unauthorized transactions, please call us immediately. Thank you. For more information on the Home Depot breach, please visit the Home Depot site. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will all cardholders be issued new cards? No. Only cardholders who, according to our records, may have used their cards at a Home Depot retail location between April 1, 2014 and September 2, 2014 will automatically be sent a new card. This is an extra precaution to protect their funds and personal information. If a cardholder receives a new card, does it mean his or her personal information was stolen? Not necessarily. We have not received notice that these employees' cards were affected by the breach, but our records indicate that these cards were used to make a purchase at a Home Depot store during the affected timeframe. Aren't cardholders protected from unauthorized transactions? Yes – provided cardholders notify Skylight immediately of unauthorized transactions. Under Regulation E1, cardholders are afforded limited liability for unauthorized transactions – provided a cardholder notifies us within the time periods set forth in the Cardholder Agreement – if they believe their card (or PIN) was lost or that a transfer was made without their authorization. This protection is separate from the “zero liability” programs offered by MasterCard® and Visa®, which are also explained in the Cardholder Agreement.

When I didn't know where to turn, I found CareStaf. They sent someone to take care of my husband on short notice. He could not be left alone because he had just had surgery and was a fall risk. The treatment and care we received was excellent. They treated me very well and helped ease my mind. I will definitely call CareStaf again!
